Hoi An, Vietnam

Hoi An

Hoi An was a fantastic first stop. Researching before tip a lot of travellors recommend 3 days. However, I stayed for 5 nights and I totally recommend taking your time here. Hoi An has a beautiful historic town which was undamaged during the war. It is necessary to buy a ticket if you want to visit some of the historic and religous sites within the historic town. This is also a well known destination for getting clothes made. A surprise for me was the most beautiful beach – An Bang Beach.

Hoi An a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Vietnam has lots of amazing coffee – this was egg coffee
The river at night comes alive with boat rides and lanterns
A busy street scene in Hoi An, showcasing the famous Banh Mi Phuong restaurant with colorful lanterns and a crowd of people waiting to order.
I recommend a food tour, a lovely way to spend an evening – Banh Mi Phuong restuarant makes delicous Banh Mi and was visited by Anthony Bordain several years ago
